Our care

Five kinds of care, under one roof.

Most families arrive needing one of these. Some need two at once — a stroke recovery that turns into long-term care, for instance. We can move between them without you having to move your parent.

01 · Long-term care

When home is no longer safe

Your parent needs help with the ordinary things — bathing, dressing, the toilet, medication — and cannot be left alone for a whole working day.

Who this is for

  • Frail parents who have had one fall too many
  • Parents who forget medication, or take it twice
  • Families where everyone works and no one can be home

What we provide

  • 24-hour nursing care and monitoring
  • Doctor consultations — our doctor visits
  • Four meals a day
  • Laundry and housekeeping
  • Daily activities
  • A daily update to the family on WhatsApp

A typical week

  • Daily: the full routine, from morning care at 7am to night checks at 8pm
  • Daily: light morning exercise at 10am
  • Daily: an afternoon activity — tai chi, carrom, board games, cards, singing, mahjong or colouring
  • : doctor visit

02 · Post-hospital recovery

Discharged, but nowhere near ready for home

The hospital needs the bed. Your parent has new medication to manage and is not ready to cope at home yet. This is the gap we fill.

Who this is for

  • After a stroke, heart event or major infection
  • After surgery — hip, knee, abdominal
  • Families given 24 hours' notice of discharge

What we provide

  • We start from the discharge summary and medication list
  • An assessment before admission if needed, at no extra charge
  • Admission within 24 hours, subject to room availability
  • 24-hour nursing care and monitoring
  • Physiotherapy on site when recovery needs it (charged separately)

A typical week

  • Daily: medication, four meals, rest and monitoring
  • Recommended: physiotherapy three times a week
  • : doctor visit

03 · Rehabilitation

Getting strength back, not just staying comfortable

Physiotherapy happens here, on site, in sessions arranged around each resident's recovery — and it is charged separately from the monthly fee. The gains are small and slow — standing unaided, walking to the dining room, holding a spoon again — and they matter enormously.

Who this is for

  • Stroke survivors with weakness on one side
  • After a hip or knee replacement
  • Parents who have become weak from long bed rest
  • Anyone whose walking has quietly deteriorated

What we provide

  • Our physiotherapist works on site — no ambulance rides across town
  • Sessions arranged around each resident's recovery
  • We recommend three sessions a week
  • Charged separately from the monthly fee
  • Light morning exercise every day at 10am

04 · Dementia care

When your mother asks the same question for the ninth time

Dementia is exhausting to live with and exhausting to care for. We care for residents living with dementia, and every resident is assessed before admission so we can confirm together that Sunheal is the right fit.

Who this is for

  • Parents living with dementia
  • Memory loss that has made home unsafe
  • Families who are no longer sleeping themselves

What we provide

  • The same faces, the same order, every single day
  • Staff who speak English, Malay and Mandarin
  • Personal items kept visible — photos, a favourite blanket
  • Staff who never argue, never shame, never rush
  • An assessment before admission, so we can confirm the fit together
  • Memorandum of Understanding with HungKuang University, Taiwan, on dementia care.

A typical week

  • Daily: identical wake, meal and rest times
  • Daily: an afternoon activity at 5pm
  • Daily: night routine and checks at 8pm

We will tell you honestly if a particular behaviour is beyond what we can manage safely. A centre that promises it can handle everything is a centre that has not thought about it.

05 · Respite care

Short stays, for when you need them

You have your own surgery scheduled. Or a work trip — or you have been caring for two years without a single full night's sleep and you cannot say it out loud.

Short stays of one week or more are welcome, and nobody here will judge you for asking.

Who this is for

  • Carers who need surgery, travel or simply rest
  • Families trialling residential care before committing
  • Bridging a gap while a domestic helper is away
  • Recovery periods of a few weeks after illness

What we provide

  • The same care as a permanent resident, from day one
  • A minimum stay of one week

A typical week

  • Day 1: settling in, routine and preferences recorded
  • Daily: the full routine — four meals, care and activities

Not sure which one your parent needs?

Most families are not. Describe what has been happening — the fall, the discharge letter, the forgetfulness — and we will tell you which kind of care fits, even if the answer is that your parent does not need us yet.

Not sure which one fits?

Tell us what has been happening with your parent and we will tell you honestly whether Sunheal is the right place - and what it would cost.
